We wanted to share with our patients more about how KidSmiles of Lake Conroe came about. It all began in the 80s when a pediatric dental practice started in Spring, Texas. The practice grew and gained an outstanding reputation throughout the community. With time, we added orthodontics, and the practice became the first in the area to offer services from board-certified pediatric dentists and orthodontists. The practice was named Pediatric Dental Specialists and Orthodontics, often called “PDS” for short.
PDS Growth Through the Years
Dr. Pittman came into the picture around the turn of the century and continued to help build and grow the practice. As time passed, the need for orthodontic treatment within the practice grew, so Dr. White joined the team. Drs. Pittman and White recognized another need within the practice: oral surgery (i.e., wisdom teeth extractions), and this service was then added to the practice, bringing in the help of a few local oral surgeons. Dr. Stephens then joined the practice in 2020, completing what the practice is today: a comprehensive oral health center for children and adolescents.

At Pediatric Dental Specialists and Orthodontics, we aim to provide the highest quality care and work with patients and parents so that they have a comfortable and pleasant experience every time they come into the office. We have fantastic staff members who are both caring and knowledgeable and help make the magic happen. Some of them have been with the practice for over 20 years! We also incorporate comfort animals into the practice. Coco and Polly are our two sweet mini golden doodles that visit with patients during their appointments and even give cuddles, which can help a lot when more challenging treatment needs to be done (if the patients want to, of course!). We are always trying to find the best way to create the best experiences for our patients and their families.
